The Story of LIA.G 🧢✨

La Historia de LIA.G 🧢✨

It all started at night, when the day had almost taken everything from me. I worked from dawn to dusk, like so many women who know that feeling of coming home with tired hands and a mind still racing, and yet, in that quiet moment before sleep, I found something that nothing else gave me: peace. A ball of yarn between my fingers, a crochet hook moving slowly, stitch by stitch, and suddenly the world became small and manageable again. It wasn't a business decision that brought LIA.G to life, it was a necessity of the soul. I needed to create something with my own hands, something that didn't come from a machine or a distant factory, something that carried within it the time I dedicated, the affection I put into each knot, the patience that one only learns when one truly loves what one does. I grew up watching the women in my family knit unhurriedly, transmitting a wisdom that is not taught in any school, and without realizing it, that love for handmade things became part of who I am. When I decided to share my pieces with the world in 2019, I wasn't thinking of selling, I was thinking of giving a little piece of that calm I had found myself. I wanted other people to feel, when putting on one of my bikinis or garments, that they were wearing something alive, something that someone had thought about for them with real dedication, not just another product among thousands identical on a shelf. I chose to work with quality cotton, wool, and polyester because my body and skin taught me to value natural materials, those that breathe, that feel good, that don't harm the planet or the wearer. Every thread I use is chosen with the health of the wearer in mind, because a garment shouldn't just be beautiful, it should feel like a hug.

This is how LIA.G was born, from the tenderness of hands that knitted to heal the day's fatigue, and from the deep certainty that slow fashion, the one that respects the natural times of creation, is also a form of self-love and respect for others. Each piece that leaves my hands carries hours of silent work, of repeating the same stitch over and over until it is perfect, of undoing and starting over when something doesn't feel right, because I prefer to take longer and deliver something truly worthwhile, rather than rush a process that deserves respect. I am not looking to compete with fast fashion, the kind that mass-produces and discards in weeks; I am looking to offer the exact opposite: garments that accompany, that last for years, that tell a story and that, over time, become part of the memories of the wearer. Each bikini, each scrunchie, each hat I create carries my invisible signature, that small imperfection that shows that human hands, and not a machine, gave it shape. For me, that is not a defect, it is proof that something was made with true love. Today, LIA.G is no longer just mine, it belongs to every woman who dares to wear a handmade garment and feels that she is choosing something different, something conscious, something that connects her with nature and with her own well-being. And although the project has grown, I continue to knit each piece with the same calm as in those first nights, because that is the essence I never want to lose: the tenderness, the patience, and the love put into each stitch, in each thread, in each garment that is born from my hands to reach yours.
